1. Von Miller- Texas A&M/ DE-OLB. Undersized edge rusher has played through injury senior year. 16.5 sacks as a junior. projected 1st rd. always can use more linebackers. probably will go elsewhere with 1st selection.
2. Ryan Broyles- Oklahoma/ WR-Slot. 5'11" speedster, returns punts. volume reciever. 1300 yards so far in senior year. Would be a great breakaway target for Rivers. projected 2nd rd.
3. Zach Pianalto- North Carolina/ TE. Senior season ended with a foot injury, good blocker, sure hands. With Gates @ 30, and wilson and mccmichael older, need to get a future tight end. projected 3rd-4th round.
4. TJ Yates- North Carolina/ QB. 4 yr. starter. UNC career leader in completions, yards, TD's. Much better than Crompton from last year. could provide solid backup when volek hangs it up. projected 6th round.
5. Ricky Elmore- Arizona/ DE. Big experienced rusher. 2nd team pac-10 led the league in sacks his junior year. Not much risk as a projected 5th rounder. potential for big upside.
6. Casey Matthews- Oregon/MLB. younger brother of Clay, defensive leader. could use depth and provide more competition for linebacker jobs. projected 5th-7th round.
7. Nick Fairley- Auburn/DT. juco transfer has potential to be franchise DT. Gets right around SEC lineman. forces fumbles. Rocketing up draft boards. Maybe this is the chargers 1st round pick.
8. Janoris Jenkins- Florida/CB. Not the most athletic player but he has great instincts. He's held his own against great SEC recievers. maybe a 3rd corner, if Donald Strickland isn't brought back. 2nd-3rd projected
9. Mark Barron- Alabama/SS. takes bad angles and sometimes is late but is by far hardest hitting d-back in country. Chargers need a safety who can scare receivers over the middle. Big risk pick, but could payoff bigtime. projected 2nd-3rd rd.
10. Kai Forbath- UCLA/Kicker. I'm not convinced that Nate Kaeding should be the kicker for much longer. Kai Forbath is the real deal. Lou Groza award winner. Big leg, only misses were from 50+ yards.projected 6th-7th. Nate needs to get back his leg power.
